Amtrak leaving Las Vegas NM
A quick little video shot from my phone while staying at the Castaneda Hotel in Las Vegas, NM on August 15, 2023. No fancy equipment here, just an iPhone camera shooting from a chair with the dog in my lap :) R.I.P. Riley - 1-23-2024.

Corn Harvest 2015
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 роки тому
Blow the dust off of this one! I found this on my computer and realized that I had never posted it. It's a harvest video I shot in the fall of 2015 showing a couple of Deere combines with 12 row heads. The video was shot about 7 miles northeast of Guymon, Oklahoma on the Long Farm. They were great hosts. When I shot the video, I had all of the relevant stats available, but time has faded them i...

La Posada Hotel and trackside Winslow, Arizona
Переглядів 1,7 тис.8 років тому
I spent a great afternoon and night here on August 31 for my vacation. I'd long known about the hotel and was past it in 1991 on Amtrak when it was empty. Now it's privately owned and open for guests. The hotel has a 5 star restaurant and many original rooms from 1930. They also host the Amtrak stop. Guests are welcome to film from behind the wall and the trackside gates are only open during Am...
BNSF Transcon Holbrook, Arizona
Переглядів 2,5 тис.8 років тому
Took a vacation this year and caught some new GEs at Holbrook. These were the first new Tier4 locos I had seen. After this I noticed several of them on the Transcon. Please overlook my rusty camera work. It's been a couple of years since I shot any train video.
Black Mesa State Park
Переглядів 12 тис.11 років тому
On July 13, 2013 I took a road trip to Boise City and then on to the Black Mesa State Park. I had been there the same weekend after July the 4th of 2012 and the lake was almost completely dry. This spring there have been some good rains in the area and the runoff has put a lot of water into the lake. Being a state park, the lake is stocked with trout when the water level warrants it. It is a ve...
U.P. Z trains meet at Optima, Oklahoma
Переглядів 17 тис.11 років тому
I heard some scanner traffic where two Z trains were to meet at Optima. I set up at a new location and caught the action just a little down the hill from the siding. The meet took less than 10 minutes. Thanks for watching.
Sneaky ACe with Autoracks
Переглядів 2,5 тис.11 років тому
I saw this train coming about 2 miles off. I thought I had plenty of time to get setup and ready to shoot, but he was on me in a flash. The beginning is point and shoot! There was a derailment of about 20 grain cars at this crossing back in May and crews are still cutting up the cars. I believe the video quality issue is sorted out. Thanks for watching.
WB rock gondolas at Guymon Ok
Переглядів 3 тис.11 років тому
Someone gave me a heads up that a re-routed BNSF gondola train was going to be coming through shortly. I got setup and waited expecting to see pumpkins on the point, but was surprised to see a threadbare Dash-9 soldiering away with the consist. I had to leave the red car in at the beginning. What a time to be indecisive! Also, I'm still getting back to familiarity with my canons and am not quit...
UP 4608 At Goodwell, Oklahoma
Переглядів 3,9 тис.11 років тому
On a great 4th of July I went over to Goodwell to see what I could catch. I found wb 4908 sitting on the main for a few minutes and then he departed. One of my favorite parts of train watching is catching a lashup when it starts from dead stop and the engineer puts the spurs to the locomotives. I had been using the same battery all day and spent lots of time filming the Sunset Limited scale rai...
Sunset Limited Guymon, Oklahoma
Переглядів 9 тис.11 років тому
After a lengthy absence, I went out to shoot some video on July 4th. This scale railroad is nearby and I wanted to get it on UA-cam. The Guymon Lions Club operates this attraction and it runs from March through October. Hours are Friday - 6pm to dark, Saturday - 4pm to dark, Sunday - 2 to 6 pm. Tickets are $2 each and the ride lasts about 11 minutes. Music credit to Kevin MacLeod at www.incompe...
Cleanup of the Union Pacific Goodwell crash
Переглядів 20 тис.12 років тому
On a hot June 30 - 6 days after the collision - I returned to the site to see what it looked like. Crews were still there moving, sorting, cutting, and just getting things organized. Everything has been moved around since the collision. The recognizable locos were dragged to the south side of the tracks and apparently the lead units were kept on the north side. I have only indicated what I thin...

UP heritage unit Katy and Officer's Special
Переглядів 1,8 тис.12 років тому
I caught three SD70ACes waiting for an eastbound in Liberal and thought they'd make a nice video as they throttled up. The Katy unit and a brand new unit were in the consist. Some friends then told me about the Officer's Special that was supposed to be through later that evening. The special was to have the E9s in the consist. Sometimes things don't work out as planned!

Hey Aj do you know anything about Sylvester- BNSF7776? I’m a Kansas railfan especially on the la junta subdivision I railfan I garden city and stumbled upon a UA-cam channel called BNSF7776, he also railfans in garden city so I tried to see when he last uploaded and it seems like he abandoned his two UA-cam channels anyways just checking up on both of you- sincerely AAT mainline.
Hello, Yes I know Sylvester, but it's been years since I've heard anything from him. I think maybe about 2010 or so. He used to setup his layout at the Garden City train show that's held in Feb/March.
@@AJ67901 hello i asked a question
Never noticed this until 7 years later, but the trailing unit's ditchlights were on. This is visible at 9:21
The end of the video is majestic.
They're look like union pacific🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
I remember these clips. One in particular was " Frisco around Claremont" is that on your channel?
I'm not familiar with it. I don't know how much Bob may have shared with others back then, but I met with him and got his permission to share these segments from a VHS tape sent to me.
Great setting, I did sub and enjoyed the video! Keep up the good work man!
Glad you came back for a bit.
thank you
@@AJ67901 you're welcome. Your channel has been a big part of my childhood.
Where you at now man @@AJ67901
IT was created even before i was born (10 nowember 2009)
11 years after last coment am making new coment danm also nice video
Yeah boi you finaly returned !!!! 😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😄
thanks - i still enjoy trains but don't take the time to do any filming i appreciate your comments
@@AJ67901 but why you don't record anything for 4 years ???!!!
I'm glad I got the chance to run the AC 60CW's and the SD70MACS before they disappeared. I really loved the 60CW's to the PRB. Although not full 6000hp they can handle those coal trains with little work and with great ease. If you have three of them on a train like did. Man those units would get you going and take care of you like a newborn baby in it's mother's arm. I send my salute for the 6000s from China where I now run high speed train. I want to show my respects to the locomotive I would always have a honor for and miss when they are gone.
It's disrespectful to harm someone who's not doing anything to you just because your bored or Don't like them.
Did someone get hurt?
Grew up on the K&D. Miss it.
I've been looking everywhere for this video!! I've been watching this since my childhood!! Truly amazing!
That sight looking east is no more. The siding was extended and makes for much excitement
Indeed. The siding went from 9000' to 15,000' last year to accomodate longer intermodal trains. Still a great location to watch trains. Thanks for watching.
@AJ67901 BRO where have you been?! It's been a hot minute since we have heard from you
5:22 oww! Unfortunate for the engineer of 4944, some teen probably delayed everything by around 3 hours.
First video I watch of trains in 2011,I was only 8 and now I’m 20,man times does fly by.
I suspect that those windshields are bullet proof but they can still get damaged.
The have to meet FRA standards. I'm sure that's fairly stringent on what can penetrate the windshield. The issue on this was that the windshield fractured with lots of cracks, making it impossible for the engineer to see while heading into the sun. Thanks for watching.
I feel bad for the people who lost there lives in the accident also quick question what was the song on the fatal head on video
Jiminy Conrail, what a loud flat wheel!
What did he give you?
3:24 - coupling was brutal. He was def over 7 mph for that coupling. My dad is a retired engineer and have said that the safest coupling is at 3 mph, to avoid damaging or even breaking a coupler. Anything faster and you risk damaging a coupler. 5:20 - was the picture perfect way to couple.
I always wanted a transformer to be a locomotive. That would be epic.
The vandal needs a MLB contract as a pitcher to spiderweb the front windshield like that
Qué grandioso acople hasta la locomotora "saltó" de la emoción, están bien salvajes.
It's like in the movie A Bug's Life. I'M LOST!
I think the Santa Fe Warbonnet scheme locomotives is what God intended for railroads to look like.🤩
The only thing I don’t like about the 90MAC-HIIs is the weird number boards.
I'd never really paid much attention to them. Does anyone know if there are any of these left or have they all been cut up for scrap?
@@AJ67901 I think most if not all have been scrapped.
Blowing that horn is just stupid. It can be heard throughout towns across America, including by nurses, police, fire department and other shift workers who are trying to sleep. It reminds me of the moronic California law to have toxic flame retardant in every mattress, so some stupid smoker doesn’t immolate himself. Idiot laws by idiot lawmakers.
Y horn sound like dat? (0:42)
I don't know how a rock hit a union pacific sd70m HUH😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳🤓🤔🤔
The ATSF rr 4-8-4 and 2-10-4 type locomotives are very impressive looking steam engines, I am glad that the Santa Fe rr has preserved numerous examples of both locomotive types for public display for future generations.
glad you enjoyed the video. I made that a long time ago.
Been by here, never into park! Awesome !
it's a nice little gem :) Thanks for watching
Hey look theres a somfing under 4944 and later under 4077 lokomotiwe 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😲😲😲😲😥😥😥😥😥🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
What?
Are you shoked?
What’s funny is that this video is still being recommended ten years later. Really goes to show how the algorithm works!
The engineers don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954.
The Black Widow scheme looks mighty fine on an E unit.
Trains 4077 and 4944 horns are the same 😁😁😎😎
I used to put sandstone rocks on the rails to watch them explode as the trains passed. The sandstone disintegrated easily with no drama other than noise. ...Then my little brother put a granite stone on the rails, and I did not see it. It nearly derailed the next train. It jumped off the rail and slammed so hard that it shook everything in the area. The noise was insane.
Great compilation of the UP trains!
Excellent video

Thank you for posting the video. I live in the Northeast but I always been a fan of The Rock Island. The video was very informative and it was great to see The Rock Island in action thank you again
well done. thanks for letting us in on it. can't believe i haven't seen it before.
Very nice nostalgic video! All shot in my home state of Oklahoma! I remember these beautiful "War Bonnets". AT&SF was a class railroad!
thanks for the compliment!
